After reviewing the table on Russo’s This Week In Education, compared to some states we should
feel good. The table shows per student
spending changes, adjusted for inflation, for each state from 2008 to
2013. Our state shows a -2.8% change,
well below that of our neighboring states.
I wonder what is going on in those states showing an increase in per
student spending over this time period.
I believe in North Dakota it may be due to oil revenue, but have no idea
in the other twelve.
How does our place on this chart make
you feel? I also wonder if this data aligns
with the constitution’s paramount duty to fund education requirement.
